Public Enemies

Very cool movie. Michael Mann sure knows how to make action movies - insane gunfights. The gunshots also had such ridiculously cool sounds - incredible bass, everything was vibrating at times. Really great movie and gorgeous cinematography. Clearly a lot was put into the environment, costumes, etc. to match the era - worked out well. I assume the movie was shot digitally and that gave it a somewhat unique flavor. It was a bit raw at times and had a slight Dogma vibe, in that it felt like they mostly used natural/available light. That made it feel like watching a documentary at times, which made it a bit more real. Top actors - Johnny Depp and Christian Bale are, of course, among the best actors working right now. Exciting story and fun chase scenes.
