The Substance

Very interesting/unique concept – but quite a lot of WTF, creepy, and disturbing. Unpleasant vibe. Many very difficult scenes. I absolutely needed a "palate cleanser" after watching this movie. Cool cinematography and fun, poppy colors. A bit of an "arty" feel. Sometimes a little comical – like the Dennis Quaid type. An original critique of obsession with appearance and the pressure on women. I didn't realize until I saw the credit list that it's actually a French film – most of the crew is French and the movie was shot in France.
