Cloverfield

Very cool movie. Fun visual style – if you don't like it when the camera is moving, then this movie is definitely not for you – the movie is basically all from the perspective of the people holding the camera. A very good action/monster movie – good pacing, you really got into it (almost like you were the guy holding the camera). It also helped make the movie "more real" that the main actors aren't very well known. **Update:** I just realized that even though this visual style is a fun change of pace, it's not exactly a new invention – **Blair Witch Project** naturally used the same technique. Now, both of these movies have been called cheap to produce – maybe it's just a good trick to keep costs down – just let the actors hold the camera ;)
