Blindness

A peculiar film... rather artsy and actually a bit abstract. It has a distinct style – since the film is about blindness and blind people, the scenes are often very white, almost overexposed. Very well-made film, looks good, a bunch of well-known actors... exactly the kind of artistic film actors want to be in because it's so cool to be part of such different movies. I'm not entirely sure where it was supposed to take place – almost like it was meant to be in the future... some parts of it felt like Tokyo, some parts like New York, and some parts like Brazil... everyone spoke English (a few also spoke Spanish) and traffic signs were in English, but the license plates were definitely not American, more European/South American... Ah, okay... according to Wikipedia: "The producers were able to acquire rights with the condition that the film would be set in an unrecognizable city." – cool. Quite interesting reflections on how much one's life changes when you suddenly become blind.
